What’s Happening in our Neighborhoods?

Our Scenic Foothills Community includes all the neighborhoods from Northern Lights Blvd. south to Tudor Road between Baxter Road and Shamrock Street (at the boundary with Joint Base Elmendorf-Fort Richardson) in Anchorage, Alaska.

Our part of town – from the Tudor-Muldoon curve to the swerve onto the Glenn Highway – is named after Anchorage pioneer homesteader Arnold L. Muldoon. He put up a log cabin among the spruce trees near Northern Lights Boulevard in the winter of 1940. He packed the materials out on his back, along a muddy trail that became Muldoon Road. Mr. Muldoon farmed his land and also worked as a carpenter at Elmendorf Air Force Base for 31 years. The 75th anniversary of his homestead coincided with the Anchorage Centennial in 2015.

Welcome to My Neighborhood on the Municipality of Anchorage website provides citizens the ability to find information easily and conveniently about property, recreation, local services, plans, and important places within Anchorage-area neighborhoods.
